We'll just be over here talking about food and stuff!

Hello! Nathan and Courtney here 😁 We are the team behind Peppervine, AKA Peppervine Tapas, AKA 'Pepper Wine', which we get called a lot haha! A little strange meeting you here, behind a computer screen, but here we are, aprons down, feet up, (possible wine in hand), to welcome you to our new blog.

As most of you who are reading this (Hi Mum), are aware, we do not currently have a permanent restaurant, so we have found ourselves with a little more free time to do the things we have always talked about doing. We would like to take this opportunity to really share a little about us and our experience of starting and owning our own small business - the good, the bad and the ugly. All things food, including some of our recipes for you to try at home, some hospitality secrets, & well... some other stuff I'm sure we'll conjure up along the way.

Once upon a time...

Firstly, before we get carried away, we would like to say, we LOVE Peppervine, it's our little baby. It has been a dream of mine since I was little to own my own business, and Nathan always wanted to cook his own recipes and create his own story. We always felt a bit lost when it came to our careers, so we decided to build ourselves a home with Peppervine.

Whilst we love it, we'd be lying if we said it hasn't come with it's fair amount of challenges. Like most things, it has taken hard work, dedication, a hell of a lot guessing and faith that our guts are telling us the right thing, and actual blood, sweat and tears. 🙈

Ahhhhh, and I go right back to our first ever day. Opening the doors to our own restaurant at Stanton Lakes, amid the eager public to get out after lockdown 1.0. What a day!

Whist Remy's actual teardrop may have landed in someone's pint, and people waited nearly 2 hours for their food, and by the end of the day, the team had no words, just hugged in tiredness and gratefulness that no one gave up. It wasn't all bad... lessons were learned, a strong team was built (these girls are stars!), and it could have only gone up from there!

Plus, if underestimating how popular our business became during lockdown was the worst problem we had... we took that as a win!

We've never wrote a blog before, so we're making this up as we go, if you couldn't tell already lol.
